Locker

THE STORY:

A young man photographed in a locker room by Maya Almeida, strips away the distraction of his environment if only for a moment, as he zero’s in on his goal. The look in his eyes is a mixture of hunger and a fearlessness, with a need not to be underestimated or misunderstood. The red towel appears to shield and protect him while he waits to hear his name, before he’s called upon to fight and get back in the game.

‘’I’m a multidisciplinary visual Artist whose practice considers art as a platform for connection. Adopting a unique approach to each work, I draw on personal experience, culture and ancient philosophy to create visceral immersive experiences. It’s an invitation to step into an imaginary world in a way that is both sensorial and profoundly intimate; It asks how we can come together and ultimately, heal.’’
